Balaton Sound<\/strong> is a three day music festival held on the shores of Lake Balaton. Held since 2007, it has developed into one of Europe\u2019s largest open air electronic music festivals. For the 2012 festival Bjork and The Stone Roses have already been signed to appear. 94,000 people attended the festival in 2009.<\/p>\n

The Sziget<\/strong> major music festival is held on Obudai island in the centre of Budapest. The 2011 event was voted \u201c Best European Major Festival\u201d. In 2012 the festival will take place between 6th<\/span><\/sup>-13th<\/span><\/sup> August and acts include Caro Emerald, Friendly Fires, Korn, Noah & the Whale, Placebo, The Horrors, The Vaccines and Two Door Cinema Club.<\/p>\n

At Sopron near the Austrian border the annual music festival is held \u2013 called Volt<\/strong> it is now in it\u2019s 20th<\/span><\/sup> year. In 2012 the event will be held between 27th<\/span><\/sup>-30th<\/span><\/sup> June and confirmed acts include \u00a0Skrillex. Snow Patrol and Iggy & the Stooges as well as Lostprophets, Children of Bodom, Hadouken and Katy B.<\/p>\n

For those that prefer more tranquil evenings then select one of the numerous restaurants that prepare locally produced food serve fantastic local wine at unbelievable prices. Many restaurants have outdoor terraces with beautiful views across Lake Balaton and theBakonyNational Park\u2013 enjoy the amazing sun sets !<\/p>\n
